Irene Sophia Joseph is an optometrist in Dubai with over 20 years of clinical experience. She graduated from the Elite School of Optometry, Sankara Nethralaya in India.
Before joining Genesis Healthcare, Irene was Senior Optometrist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai. She has specialised in myopia management with orthokeratology lenses for more than 15 years and holds Fellowships with both the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC) and the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA). She also serves as General Secretary of ‘Optometry Chapter’ of the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology, UAE.
Irene has expertise in optically managing complex eye conditions such as keratoconus, irregular corneas, and ocular surface disorders. She is skilled in the use of scleral and hybrid lenses as well as advanced diagnostics including electrodiagnostics and ocular imaging like topography and optical biometry. She also provides vision therapy for conditions like amblyopia and binocular vision disorders.
