Ruth McKenna is a highly experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist in Dubai with over 11 years of clinical experience. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh in 2014.
Before relocating to Dubai, Ruth studied and worked for ten years in the UK and then spent three years working in Ireland. Since moving to Dubai in 2023, she worked at Mediclinic for one year, where she gained invaluable experience, before joining our team at Genesis.
Ruth has extensive experience providing an OT service in hospitals, schools, nurseries, community, and clinic settings. Her practice at Genesis provides both clinic OT appointments and nursery/school OT appointments. She is an advocate for evidence-based assessment and intervention, alongside carrying out a holistic, individual/child-centered approach.
Ruth is passionate about empowering children of all ages to build their independence, enabling them to participate and perform in daily activities to the best of their ability. She works in collaboration with schools, parents, and all healthcare services involved in the child’s care, ensuring the best support for the child.
Ruth has a special interest in early intervention, working with premature babies, infant and toddler development.
