Martie Clayton is a registered nurse and midwife in Dubai with 28 years of experience. She trained in South Africa and completed an Honours degree in Nursing Education and Administration in 2006.
After relocating to Dubai in 2008, Martie identified a growing need for breastfeeding support in the community. In 2011, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to expand her expertise and provide the highest standard of care for mothers and newborns.
Martie is also a certified instructor in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP), and Basic Life Support (BLS). She frequently delivers lectures and training across the UAE on breastfeeding, obstetric emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, and life support, ensuring her practice reflects the latest international guidelines.
She has played a key role in developing maternity services in Dubai. As part of the Mediclinic Middle East commissioning team, Martie helped establish Mediclinic City Hospital and later worked as Nurse Manager for Maternity for nine years. Under her leadership, the team achieved multiple accolades, including outstanding feedback during JCIA accreditation for the quality of care provided to parents and newborn babies.
Martie combines clinical expertise with a compassionate, family-centred approach. She is committed to supporting mothers and babies with evidence-based care, ensuring a safe and confident start to parenthood.
