Resmi Pillai is a DHA-Licensed Diabetes Educator, Clinical Educator, and Registered Nurse with more than 15 years of clinical experience in the UAE. She specialises in diabetes education and support, helping patients and their families develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to manage diabetes in everyday life.

Resmi takes a personalised, evidence-based approach to diabetes care. She works closely with each patient to help them understand their condition, medications, blood glucose levels, nutrition, lifestyle, and treatment plan. Her focus is on practical education and achievable goals that support long-term health and diabetes self-management.

At Genesis, Resmi works alongside our endocrinology and weight management teams, providing additional support for patients with diabetes and metabolic health concerns.

Resmi holds a Master of Science in Nursing, specialising in Medical Surgical Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

She has completed specialist diabetes educator training through the Imperial College London Diabetes and Endocrinology Centre in Abu Dhabi, strengthening her expertise in evidence-based diabetes education, treatment support, and long-term diabetes management.

Resmi has also completed the Advanced Clinical Education Programme – Essentials of Nursing Education through Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). She is also a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and holds Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Resmi has more than 15 years of healthcare experience in the UAE, with a clinical background spanning endocrinology, haemato-oncology, outpatient care, surgical nursing, and nursing education.

She joined Genesis Healthcare Centre in 2023, where she has worked as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Educator, and Diabetes Educator. Alongside direct patient care, Resmi supports clinical education, nursing competencies, staff development, patient safety, and quality improvement.

Her extensive experience as both a nurse and educator allows her to explain complex diabetes information in a clear, practical, and supportive way.

Resmi is passionate about empowering patients and families through personalised diabetes education. She believes that patients should feel informed, supported, and confident in the day-to-day management of their health.

Her compassionate approach combines clinical knowledge with practical education, helping patients make sustainable changes and take an active role in their diabetes care.
